Celebrate your local farmers markets all week long during National Farmers’ Market Week!
”Now in its 23rd year, National Farmers Market Week (NFMW) is an annual celebration that highlights the vital role farmers markets play in our nation’s food system… This year’s NFMW celebration will run August 7th – 13th,2022. As hubs for connection and community resilience, farmers markets have particularly risen to the occasion this year by providing a necessary sense of unity and stability during a time of great uncertainty. Farmers markets don’t just happen, and the hard work of farmers market operators should be recognized within our network, and be shared far and wide” – Farmers Market Coalition
NFMW is celebrated by the Farmers Market Coalition and the National Center for Appropriate Technology, which both act as great advocates and resource for farmers markets across Montana and the nation. A huge thank you to their teams for their diligent efforts to unite farmers markets and offer an extensive network for all participants of farmers markets to connect.
This year, the GVFM will be celebrating NFMW across our social media platforms all week long. Stay tuned to learn about the impacts farmers markets have on the the Montana economy, how GVFM got its start, stories from our vendors and much more. Then, on Saturday, August 13th, we will cap off NFMW with our 8th market of the season! Join us to stock up on all the fresh produce, buy a hand made gift for a friend, and jam out to local band Slim Pickins. Our market opens at 9 am and runs through noon at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds.
